Meeken Yourself
02:24
|
|||
The sound of this old leaky faucet
Is nagging me like a pretty
women who thinks she can live off her looks
with a wretched personality
Tell me what's gonna happen in 10 years
or 20 or 30 or more
When your beauty has left you abandoned
and your bosom has fell to the floor
When your face looks like a map of Kentucky
and your voice sounds like a dinosaur
and the children all run from you screaming
and the mirror is something your abhor
AHAHAHAHA
Well you take everything now for granted but the
Lord giveth and taketh away
so will you get right with God now and meeken yourself
or just wait until it's too late

Into The Bathroom
02:19
|
|||
She stepped into the bathroom
a woman of years 33
she took out a stick and then peed upon it
hoping to find pregnancy
Her parents had begged her for so many years
and now they still wait patiently
She told them she wanted to build a career
before she made a family
She sits alone in the bathroom
waiting to see the good news
for ten months she's tried with tears in her eyes
and a heart like a bursted balloon
Why didn't keep her baby at fifteen
she thought that she had so much time
The teachers all said it would ruin her life
So she did what they told her was right
She walks out of the bathroom
reflecting back upon her life
her womb is still empty, although not accidentally
her baby would be 18 tonight
yeah baby would be 18 tonight

Nothing You Said
03:36
|
|||
I was watching you this morning
while you were sleeping but not snoring
Your eyes were still rolling around your head
though I saw your lips move, I heard nothing you said
I could tell that you were dreaming
about someone so appealing
and I hoped that that someone was me
till you suddenly woke up, and went out to pee
Some people suffer and say that they can't get to sleep
still other's can't get out of bed without morning coffee
but not me no not me
cuz I fall asleep when I'm tired
my body and brain both expired
until then I read or I type until my fingers bleed
don't you know my ideas, they mean so much to me

The World I'm Living In
01:46
|
|||
My house was built upon a landfill yesteryear
I wake up to the screaming of marketeers
Where you going? Where you been?
I'll bet you couldn't survive the world that I'm living in
Ain't got no vehicle, ain't got no wheels to spin
The skin of my poor feet is torn and blistering
Where you going? Where you been?
I'll bet you couldn't survive the world that I'm living in
I fetch my water down the street with a blue pail
my showers colder than a spraying arctic whale
Where you going? Where you been?
I'll bet you couldn't survive the world that I'm living in

Heroic Songs
02:36
|
|||
Well this body has left me empty
It has drained my spirit dry
Now I've lost my sparkling vision
My eyes were meant to see and not to cry
This sickness made me feel so violated
but I won't let it keep me down for long
I will jump back upon my saddle
My voice was meant to sing heroic songs
Well, this woman has left me wistful
Now I feel like I don't belong
to the perky and sunny future
that I anticipated for us us all along
Jealousy and envy's left me jaded
but I won't be held back for too long
I will jump back upon my saddle
cuz My voice was meant to sing heroic songs

Billy and Freddy
03:13
|
|||
Billy and Freddy were both 8 years old
Each with 2 arms and 2 legs
But Billy was better at making excuses
while Freddy just didn't like to wait
Both of them wanted a new baseball mitt
so they could try out for the team
But birthdays and christmas were so far away
and tryouts were coming next week
Some people have all the luck Billy'd say
They get to play for the team
But such things don't happen to poor kids like me
We're doomed just to play make-believe
Well Freddy had shortly come up with a plan
and ran it by his best friend Billy
Just 22 lawns and by this time next Tuesday
we could be playing for the team
But Freddy's mathematics fell upon deaf ears
For Billy was already convinced
Nothing could save them but a miracle from God
or a new set of richer parents
So Billy went home and pitied himself
while watched the pros play on TV
But Freddy went around and knocked on some doors
offering his service for a fee
3 long days later, Freddy came by
with sunburn and a new baseball mitt
His best friend Billy accused him of stealing
and stormed away throwing a fit
Don't be mad Billy, we've still got some time
Let's you and me go cut some grass
But Billy wouldn't listen, he was moanin' and pissin'
he just wouldn't get up off his ass

Away In the Zone
03:43
|
|||
She's away in the zone of insanity
I try to escape, but she won't let me be
And You know in the zone they love company
but the evil they do just don't sit right with me
She's away in the zone with her proud misery
You know she's ain't alone, but she sure ain't with me
You know it's like a disease spread by fantasy
away to the zone she wants to drag me
Now I won't give in to temptation you see
I don't look to the world to satisfy me
She's away in the zone with her proud misery
You know she's ain't alone, but she ain't with me
If I get knocked down by this mundane debris
I'll get right back up and dust off my jeans
Won't go away to try and find peace
I won't feel at home, in a proud misery
away to the zone she wants to drag me
but I won't give in, to her insanity
no I won't give in to her insanity

Whatever It Takes
03:10
|
|||
I tried to find glory but I instead found shame
when I strapped on my guitar and went looking for fame
I slept on the highway just to restore my brain
Isolation and hunger were the name of the game
Isolation and hunger made me somehow feel sane
Even though all I needed was a woman to say
I'm here for you always, through whatever it takes
and if I see you suffering, I'mma make it okay
A girl who is humble and I'll be the same
cuz if my girl is suffering, I'll do whatever it takes
Yeah if my girl is suffering, I'll do whatever it takes
And all that ask of her, is for me do the same
